Tangerang, October 28 2023 - J Trust Bank was one of over 90 collaborators who celebrated Youth Pledge Day by participating in the 2023 Youth Action for Climate Protection (AMJI) movement, initiated by Econusa, guardlaut.id, and Ecodefender.id. Along with 30 volunteers and other collaborators, J Trust Bank took action at the Mangrove Center in Tanjung Pasir, Teluk Naga, Tangerang Regency. Together, they planted 3,000 mangrove seedlings, made 5,000 more mangrove seedlings, and collected 83 kilograms of rubbish from Tanjung Pasir beach. This was a great effort towards protecting the environment and ensuring a better future for the youth.
J Trust Bank understands that companies are accountable for carbon emissions arising from their operational activities and financing provided. By participating in AMJI 2023, J Trust Bank demonstrates its commitment to improving climate conditions and prioritizing environmental concerns.
Corporate Secretary Division Head, Ridyawan Amnar mentioned in his speech that J Trust Bank is committed to taking tangible steps for safeguarding the environment and actively contributing towards it. This is what sets J Trust Bank apart, and on this occasion, volunteers from the J Trust Group also joined hands in the Youth Safeguarding the Climate Action.
The enthusiasm of young people, communities, and organizations in AMJI has increased compared to previous years, and they are receiving support from corporations. This support is helping to raise awareness, concern and promote a more environmentally friendly lifestyle. Yolanda Parede, the National Coordinator of Marine Guardians, explained these developments.
The AMJI initiative has been implemented since 2021 and has successfully encouraged over 29,000 young people to take real action. As a part of this initiative, more than 46,000 mangrove seedlings and trees have been planted, 200 hatchlings have been released, no less than 1,500 corals have been transplanted and adopted, and over 37,000 kilograms of waste have been collected and cleaned up.
