Jakarta 9 November 2022. PT Bank JTrust Indonesia Tbk (J Trust Bank) won the IDXChannel CSR Award 2022 for a community empowerment program entitled “Eco-friendly Product Entrepreneur Training for Women Entrepreneurs.” J Trust Bank carried out this program with the aim of utilizing the company's resources to reduce problems at the community level with interventions targeting increasing the economic capacity of families.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is one of the strategic efforts in running the bank's sustainable business. CSR programs are implemented seriously and will gradually lead to medium, and long-term term programs, we are determined to be part of the solution to economic, social and environmental problems. In addition, through CSR we strengthen our commitment to implementing good corporate governance.
In 2021, J Trust Bank will collaborate with the North Jakarta Administrative City Government and in 2022 with the South Jakarta Administrative City Government, to increase the capacity and creativity of women entrepreneurs, especially home tailors. The implementation of social restrictions during the Covid-19 pandemic has reduced people's interest in ordering stitches which has an impact on decreasing even the loss of income for home tailors.
Therefore, J Trust Bank held a training aimed at increasing the ability and creativity of program participants, and as an added value, they could process waste cloth waste into a variety of products that have economic value and suit the interests of the community, such as cloth masks, lunch bags, and multi-purpose wallets. For information, cloth waste is the 3rd largest pollutant in Indonesian seas.
The strategic step taken by J Trust Bank is to develop a public private partnership (PPP) by becoming a partner and supporting government work programs, especially from the Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy Sub-Departments. Through this CSR program, J Trust Bank seeks to contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals in particular Goal No.8 Laywork and Economic Growth and Goal No.14 to Protect Marine Ecosystems.
